In football terms, a “Hail Mary” is a typically unsuccessful pass made in a desperate attempt to score late in the game. The phrase is also a Catholic prayer, asking Mary to “pray for us sinners.”
This assemblage acts as a framing device, placing words and thoughts side-by-side, asking you to consider new relationships. Referencing objects we know to exist in a particular way, I aim to reveal their commonality, and therefore undetectability.
Neon color strips these objects of any normalcy, breaking them apart and re-fashioning them. These newly contextualized objects exist in-between recognition— their naked, radiating forms creating a spectacle impossible to overlook.
